I Tip my Hat

I know that one day I will hear “One Shining Moment” as the Cards cut down the nets, but we can no longer hope that day will be 2008 . A fantastic season for the Cardinals, and I honestly couldn’t be more proud of their effort against the best team in the nation, and their effort all season long. Thank you David, Tello, and Farley for 4 great years that included a Final 4, and an Elite 8.

Sometimes you just have to tip your hat to the better team, this is one of those times. Good Luck to the Tar Heels the rest of the way. I for one figured Psycho T to be overrated, but I can honestly say that he is the best player in the nation, hands down. Maybe the Cardinal 9 will give us something to get excited about before football season gets here.

Ugh . . . football season, doesn’t that make you want to put a gun in your mouth.

I don’t know about you- but basketball saved my 2007-2008 sports season, and made me completely forget the disaster that was football.

For that- and a great, great ride this year — I thank this team and RickyP again.

Y’know, UofL basketball has been named the seventh best all-time basketball program by Street and Smith’s, The Sporting News, and CBS Sportsline.

This year’s team’s Top Ten finish was great, and together with the 2005 team is helping to restore our Top Ten tradition (#7 out of 328 Division I teams teams-top 2%).

It’s a helluva lot of fun– again.

I for one am looking forward to football season. Football is, after all, the king of college sports, not matter how popular basketball is in this area. Football is what gained national respect for Louisville, the sport that made people quit thinking of U of L as a mid-major program. Remember the Orange Bowl, one fantastic memory. Got to get back there, build, get better next season. Return to BCS in a couple or three years.

Jordan, for you and your readers,

Interview: The Boogie Man aka Scott Spicer

The Card BBall team did great this year-but didn’t hold on long enough for me to finish my Card Fan Hall of Fame interviews.

We still have 3 super fans left to honor-The Boogie Man aka Scott Spicer, The Referee Shirt Waver aka Stu Grossman, and The Runner (or Cha-Cha Guy) aka Jeff Blume.

We may wait ’til next year on Stu and Jeff. But Scott deserves a spot now.

A young man with Downs Syndrome, Scott has been a Card fan since he was 8 years old in 1980. Unfortunately, he can not express himself well through words.

    But…he can dance.

“It’s difficult for him to put into words what he feels.

But, Scott tells me his actions speak louder than words. ”

    Janice Spicer, mother of

Scott Spicer: sports fanatic, Boogie Cam dancer, and Card fan since 1980.
