I am by far the biggest Mike & Mike addict in the world. This mornings show was fantastic.

First coach Pitino called in to discuss the game against Boise State. Following the conversation Mike and Mike began discussing how to correctly say Louisville. Ten minutes before the show ended Mayor Jerry Abramson surprisingly called in to help the guys correctly pronounce our city’s name.

Awesome show. The Best of Mike and Mike will be on at 2:30 EST on ESPN 2 if you missed this mornings show. Both interviews should be on so be sure to tune in.

What I missed

Posted in Random on FebruaryebupmMon, 25 Feb 2008 14:33:32 +000008 1, 2008 by Jordan H

I haven’t been on top of my game this weekend. I have been out of town and I’ve missed a ton of stuff. I listened to Paul Rogers on Sunday, but I’m hoping that Jerb will have the video so that I can watch the Pitt game. I’ll look back in the next couple of days at what I missed on the weekend. Opening weekend for the Cardinal 9, the Pitt game, another 2009 recruit, Good Edgar. I’ll hit on all of it.

Thanks

I just want to take a minute to thank Mike over Card Chronicle, Charles at Card Game, and Greg over at Red Reign for adding Throwin L’s to their blogroll.

Anyone who has visited from those sites, feel free to comment, and keep stopping by!

PHH Extreme Home Make-Over

I just got done watching the Patrick Henry Hughes Extreme Home Make-Over on ABC. It was by far the most inspiring thing I’ve seen in a long time, maybe ever. In case you don’t know who PHH is, here is the ESPN story on him.

Truly wonderful person, wonderful story. No one has ever deserved a Home Make-Over more. Check out these websites.

Louisville America’s 5th Most Underrated City

Posted in Random on FebruaryebuamSat, 16 Feb 2008 11:26:14 +000008 1, 2008 by Jordan H

From Yahoo! and Shermans Travel:

”Everyone knows cities like New York, San Francisco, and Chicago are among the best in the United States, but there are many other fabulous – albeit smaller – American cities that just don’t get their fair share of the limelight. Whether their proximity to a bigger city steals their thunder or a recent city makeover remains undiscovered by the masses, the cities on our list are oft-overlooked by even the savviest of travelers. If you’re looking to broaden the scope of your trips to include some less-talked-about places with great art scenes, friendly locals, delectable cuisine, and rich history, add one of our most underrated cities to your “must-see” list.

5. Louisville
The Kentucky Derby may be its claim to fame, but the famous horse race isn’t all Louisville has to offer. Nestled on the banks of the Ohio River, this Southern city has loads of small-town charm, a cosmopolitan riverfront district, a diverse art scene (thanks to the Kentucky Center for the Arts), and a growing foodie market with its own Restaurant Row. Sports lovers should make a stop at the Louisville Slugger Museum; thrill-seekers, take a ride on one of the world’s longest stand-up coasters at Kentucky Kingdom. History lovers can sip mint juleps on a river cruise aboard the Belle of Louisville, a National Historic Landmark “

Thursday Morning Pick-Up

Posted in Louisville Cardinals, Random, Thursday Morning Pick-Up on FebruaryebuamThu, 14 Feb 2008 07:15:33 +000008 1, 2008 by Jordan H

New tradition. Expect a pick-up every Thursday. Mostly because I have to go to class and can’t sit around monitoring the news all day, but also because it’s cool.

The Grammys

Me and four other people in America have been very eager for the 50th Annual Grammy Awards. The event gives me the opportunity to blog about something other than sports. Kanye leads with nominations, if the big wigs know whats good for them, he will win every category. They never had good taste in music before so why would they start now though right?

If you haven’t yet, its time for you to jump on the bandwagon.

Posted in Random on FebruaryebuamThu, 07 Feb 2008 09:06:56 +000008 1, 2008 by Jordan H

Well, you acually can’t jump on this bandwagon just yet because the Writers Guild of America still finds it necessary for me to twidle my thumbs on Thursday nights. As soon as the penny pinchers over at NBC decide they have had enough though, it’s time for YOU to jump on, The Office bandwagon.

Here is another blog for you non-sports fans, a great video I found from Season 2 of The Office.
